What does a website care plan include?

A website care plan covers hosting, security, updates, and small changes so business owners never have to touch the tech. Here’s what’s typically included.

Why websites need ongoing care

A website isn’t finished when it launches. Domains expire, security certificates renew, software needs updates, and businesses change their hours, services, and photos. Without someone looking after it, small issues turn into broken forms or a site that goes offline.

What’s usually included

Fast, secure hosting. Domain renewals and SSL security, so the padlock stays in the browser. Software upkeep and monitoring, so problems get caught early. And small updates — new hours, a new photo, a changed phone number — without a new project each time.

If your site includes AI tools or a business phone line, the care plan often covers that usage too.

What’s usually not included

Big new features — a new customer portal, an inventory system, or a full redesign — are typically scoped as their own project, so you know the price before work starts.

Questions to ask before you sign up

What exactly is covered each month? How do I request a change, and how quickly is it handled? Who owns the domain, the content, and the customer data? And how much notice is needed to cancel?

Questions

Common questions

If you don’t want to manage hosting, security, and updates yourself, yes. A care plan keeps all of that handled in the background.

With Solid Rock Digital, you can simply text a request — small text and photo updates are included in the care plan.

Most providers allow it with notice. Solid Rock Digital’s care plan has a 30-day notice to cancel.
